The Platypus is a semi-aquatic egg laying mammal, living in Eastern Australia and Tasmania. It’s the only mammal laying eggs in stead of giving live birth. It has a duck like bill, feet like an otter and a beaver like tail. No wonder it baffled that Europeans that first encountered it. On top of that it’s one of the few mammals that is venomous; the spur on the hind foot can cause severe pain to humans!
