What is a Fat Quarter?
Quilters love it. It's basically a pre-cut piece of material; the size is "half of half a metre". Usually this means an -almost- square piece of 20 x 22 inches, or 50 x 55 cm.
However, if the Fat Quarter is cut from a wider than usual fabric, it might be 50 cm x 70 cm, because the fabric it is cut from is wider than usual. Hence the price difference.
